I'm finally getting used to the scent, but I found it pretty overwhelming at first, even though we didn't add very much to the bathwater. We tend toward scent-free products, but I usually love lavender scented soaps, so I was surprised at how cloying and headache-inducing this bubble bath was. And, of course, the smell lingers on my daughter's skin. However, she loves it, and I haven't noticed that it dries out or irritates her skin (though we don't use it daily). This is the first bubble bath wash we've ever used, so I don't know it compares to other products, but I doubt I will buy it again when we've used up the container.
